“ The staff are superb and look after you like nowhere else, and have time for a word and to make you feel at home and looked after. They can't do enough for you. The food is excellent, and (unlike many pubs/restaurants these days) all cooked from scratch. The room prices are very reasonable and probably reflect the fact that the location is inland so you are likely to need to do a fair bit of driving, but it's one place you can get to both Dartmoor and Exmoor without too much bother. Do go!!!! ”
“ What a lovely place to stay! The staff gave us such a warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble. They were really kind. The bed was really big and comfy, and there were plenty of pillows. Breakfast was delish - we had a full English and Eggs Florentine. Both were perfectly cooked (perfectly poached eggs) with high quality ingredients. Would deffo return if I was in the area. ”
“ Amazing food and very nice pub. I had a scotch egg and rack of lamb that were both perfect. The wife loved her dishes too, mozzarella and carrots balls, followed by scallops with a side of potatoes. Both desserts were really nice but I can't remember what they were....maybe sticky toffee and a very chocolatey brownie Barmaid was really friendly and service was good and well.paced We'll definitely be back ”
